The Scrovegni Chapel ticket gets you into the Civic Museum as well, and it is well worth your time while you are there. Giotto's crucifix is worth the visit by itself, and there is a lot (a whole lot!) of other items on display.
My wife and I browsed the extensive holdings for two hours after we saw Giotto's Chapel. Much sculpture and painting. Some pieces are excellent. One of the better ways to spend a rainy afternoon. Covered by the Padova Card.
We went to this museum complex after visiting the Scrovegni. While the archeological part was a little disappointing, the Art Museum was surprisingly good and extensive, with lots of paintings by notable Veneto artists. If it were in the US, it would be a major tourist destination. Just down the road from Venice, it struggles to get noticed.
The Museo Civico di Padova (Musei Civici agli Eremitani) adjoins the Scrovegni Chapel and entrance is on the same ticket. If your visit here is adjacent to your visit to the chapel you will already have handed in any bags (even handbags) at the cloakroom. There is a large souvenir shop which serves both attractions. The museum has a large... 更多
This place was a total surprise, the staff were very friendly, the place is huge, if you've booked for the frescos, be there 5 mins before the time you've got as if you miss the window, you're not going in - environmental control of the room means people are moved through an airlock style system where they are only open... 更多
It is a little hard to find the entrance to the museum from surrounding streets. Make sure you book well in advance if you want to go into the church to see the frescoes. You can go and see them late at night if you want. We tried to go in at 3.30pm but the next slot to see frescoes... 更多
Hundreds of beautiful paintings are nicely exposed in the pinacoteca on first floor where also the Giotto wooden cross is. On ground floor thousands of archeologic elements are unfortunately often exposed on dark shelves ad the spotlight are off. The second improvable service is the audioguide: instead of the plastified A3 size map the optical pen could be activated directly... 更多
The museum is right next to the Scrovegni chapel and it is well worth scheduling a visit. We were taken by surprise at the size of the art collection and the treasures contained therein. We did not have time to look around the huge archeological collection - will have to do that next time. Very helpful and informative volunteers and... 更多
We toured the museum while waiting for our scheduled time to visit the Scrovegni Chapel. It was nice and well presented on several levels.
I saw this collection because it's bundled with the Scrovegni Chapel. It's all largely a mish-mash. Some nice pieces of art, but the rest somehow doesn't fit in. The staff are polite and it's the collection does add some value. Across the road is the Zuckerman collection, which is like London's Victoria and Albert Museum, but without any direction or... 更多
