A lovely church from the 15th century in Renaissance style. The bell tower is from the Benedictine monastery previously on the site. We visited while they were cleaning the floor so could only view the interior from the rear!
This church has unbelievable interiour. Built as example for renaisance, it has absolutely incredible frescos that you mean they are reliefs (3D), but that's just an ilusion. From the main entrance it takes your breath away and when you look at the walls, you would sure say it's relief.
When we passed by this place it was closed over the extended lunchtine so went back at 3pm when it reopened. It was interesting enough but i would say no more than that. Fortunately entrance was free, we spent about 15 minutes on a brief tour. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the town

One of the must-see buildings in Mantova. Be aware that photography is not allowed inside the basilica. In the center is the famous vial buried (won't spoil it for you with info) A must see, and take your time to view the paintings. Breathtaking.
It's the most beautyful basilica I've ever seen. Fantastic frescoes on the walls looking sometimes like 3D sculptures, all the interior of the basilica is overwhelming. It's absolutely to be visited if you're in the area or it's even worth a trip for it.
