A typical church but with excellent views on the outside. If you are lucky to get a ceremonial, a wedding for instance, it will be very interesting then. More probable on Saturdays and Sundays of course.
When you get off the boat don't just head for the shops and cafes with the rest of the crowds, turn left and climb the hill up to the church. It's about a 10-15 minute walk and is well worth it for the church and views from the top.
The prayers of Portofino's fishermen have echoed here for centuries. The church is on a high hill overlooking the small port below. There is an interesting wall of dedications on the outside wall... one dedication mentions the inventor, Marconi, who was able to transmit a radio signal from a ship in the harbor to the Sydney World's Fair in 1930....
BREATH-TAKING views of the sea and of Magical Portofino...walk up the the church early in the morning and have it all to yourself, you have to at least hum AMAZING GRACE...to be in such a place and enjoy the wonder of a Creative God!!!!
