Starting from Opicina, this is a great, easy and famous walk. 4 km till Prosecco, you can decide whether to climb up on the 'Formaggino' aka Monte Grisa sanctuary. Enjoy the beautiful landscape on the sea and watch people climbing on the cliffs at the end of the path. To do!
It's a 5 km walk with beautiful scenery for almost the whole walk. There are places to rest with benches along the way. It's advisable to take the tram either going up or coming down (at least one way) which gives beautiful views down below. We were not so lucky since it was a hazy day.
Nicely marked, easy walking trail with an amazing view of the sea! There isn't many parking spots at the beginning of the trail, so probably best to take the tram up to the start.
Perfect for a sunday walk to enjoy nature and landscape. Good for children too. It is better to go in a sunny day in order to appreciate the landscape. Remember that it is a long way..
Nice scenic road on the outskirts of Trieste. A 7 or 8 km long path from Opicina to Prosecco with spectacular views on the city of trieste and Adriatic Sea. On nice days you will meet plenty of people walking this path and enjoying nature. The only lowside of this path is lack of parking spaces at it's start.
Get off highway and try to drive trought nature of adriatic sea. You will see small vilages and real Italian nature and life. In the same time you will save the money for road toll. Enjoy the ride !!!!
the guidebook we perused suggests to start this trail at its northern terminus and walk southward; I can see the advantage of ending the walk in Opicina, which offers restaurants and coffeeshops, but I think our route (going northward) is much more interesting. Start in piazza Oberdan in Trieste and catch the Opicina tramway (see own review); although it is... 更多
Caught the tram into Opacina and had a light lunch. A few beers and crisps and nuts. Asked the way to Prosecco and was told by a young lad we couldn't walk there only for him to be corrected by his father that there was a path from the Obelisk to Prosecco and that it was about 5 miles. Walked... 更多
Beautiful walk to take in the views on a beautiful day, enjoy the native bush, and enjoy the birdlife. Finish off your walk with a stroll along the beachfront, swim in the beautiful clear sea, or sip wine or beer in one of the small local bar/cafes.
While visiting family in Trieste we would go often to this beautiful place for a nice run or equally enjoyable a walk or hike on the side trails while taking photographs. The best way up from the city is Tram Di Opicina, the funicular railway from downtown. the ride cost about a buck and a half. Get off at Obelisco... 更多
