If you go for a visit early in the morning, let's say 8.30 when it opens, you can still enjoy the spaces on sunlight. Later they will close the shutters and the whole sequence of rooms will be in semi-darkness. Beside some of the best works of italian painting (Piero della Francesca, Tiziano, Guido Reni, Raffaello), you can just enjoy... 更多
The Palazzo contains impressive exhibitions, paintings and sculptures, over several floors. It is a large collection and some of the paintings and sculptures are exquisite. Great views over Urbino from the windows too
This huge palace was built to celebrate Federico da Montefeltro's love of the arts and culture. It is truly imposing from the outside, all vertical lines climbing to the sky according to Gothic-inspired Renaissance architecture, designed by the famous Luciano Laurana. Inside it houses one very large and fine collection of precious works of Italian Renaissance art, including paintings by... 更多
Awe inspiring architecture, with great views and photo ops. One can walk around, and into the Palazzo, all the time admiring the lovely picturesque countryside around the quaint little town.
The Palazzo contains impressive exhibitions, paintings, sculptures, and other tools; the paintings of Piero della Francesca are impressive. The visit includes rooms on two floors and under ground level. A careful visit requires about three hours.
While approaching the palazzo you can understand from it's size and architecture that Federico da Montefletro was indeed a great man, so much more than military genius. Today, inside the palace there are many great pieces of work, from gothic to renaissance and later on. View from the terrace and inside garden is beautiful, but could use some work and... 更多
An amazing palace, brilliantly restored over the past couple of years, in an entirely delightful town. Remarkable for its architectural fineness as well as its remarkable grandeur, and enriched by an exceptional collection of art work. And Urbino a wonderful and fascinating place to explore, with a real sense of life and vitality as well as historic splendor.
What a great experience , very charming from outside and inside the building oozes history , the guide explained to us step by step and everything well , a lot of people visiting the ducal palace . nice indeed
This Palazzo has an amazing collection art which is on a par with many Great Cities galleries, also other art treasures and pottery. It is next door to the Cathedral and sited in a main square
Most interesting for the art. Disappointingly not everything explained in English. In May was not too busy except for hoards of very noisy and ill mannered Italian school children who took over the place including the lovely courtyard where they were left unsupervised. No concessions for seniors. Only suitable for the able bodied as a lot of walking and stair... 更多
