Little vendors are up at the hilltop... Get here before sunset on a clear day. Grab a coffee or wine and sit to watch the sun change the views of Rome. Lovely park and lovely place to sit and unwind before a late dinner.

When in Trastesvere (and don't miss that), this is a nice walk up to the Piazzale. There are many vistas overlooking Rome and a lovely fountain on the way.
Located at the top of Janiculum Hill, Piazzale Garibaldi is often overlooked, set apart from the Vatican and major archaeological attractions around Palatine and Aventine. Worth visiting if only for the views over the city - I'd suggest walking up through Trastevere which is a really interesting area with lots of cafes, restaurants and quirky arty shops. From there it's a steep climb up the hill and into the park to the Garibaldi monument.
Get up there from Trastevere. Don't take a taxi, you'll miss half the wonders on the way. It's a pretty steep climb, and it will seem longer than it really is, but it's worth it. All of it.
