An excellent collection of artworks in excellent condition and very well displayed. The building itself is an old palace of the Bourbon popes and several of the staterooms are included as part of the gallery. Not to be missed by any art lover passing through Naples!
A longish journey via Metro and bus, but well worth the trip. The museum is in a grand building, in lovely grounds. Some fantastic art, and a wonderful collection of porcelain. Not a huge museum, but the price reflects that. A decent little cafe in the colonnade.
One of Italy's best art museums. Mostly baroque art, but what a vast quantity of it! Allow plenty of time to get there, and get back from the downtown, if you are travelling by bus. If short on time, take a taxi. Good boutique, with comprehensive guides to the collection.
Twas one heck of a walk up the Salita Capodimonte from the Pizzeria Oliva. Picturesque, mind, with all the washing out and the local sights and sounds. The Caravaggio! Worth the trip just to see this one incredible painting. The royal apartments are also worth viewing not to mention the Rafaello, the Michaelangelo, the Ribera,etc etc
