A visit to Capri would not be complete without a walk to Villa Jovis. The history could be a concern for some, but the location is hard to beat. It's a long uphill walk, but the views are spectacular and worth all the effort. Not much is left of the structure unfortunately. A beautiful statue stands at the top.
I'm not going to lie, it's a long and, in parts, a fairly steep climb to get to Villa Jovis but the surfaces are good and the view you get at the top make it completely worthwhile; they're amazing. Plan your trip for early-ish morning if you can and definitely before the heat of the midday sun. It's probably a... 更多
On a warm afternoon, we walked and hiked upward for a long time. We ultimately reached this destination. The journey was fun though certainly tough in that the steps upward were numerous and at points seemingly endless. When we reached the top, I noted that this place is better suited for billy goats thanks to the climb; then sure enough,... 更多
very nice ruins of roman.Nice view nice hystorical place. You need to walk to go there but it is worth. A bit less worth the 4 euro for the entrance but we are in the most espensive place of Italy.
This villa, used by both Augustus and Tiberius was constructed on some of the best real estate in the world. The panoramic views from the ruins are extraordinary. The villa was constructed on a grand scale. Unfortunately it is currently in need of much conservation work. There are some excellent academic architectural constructions on the Internet. In my opinion it... 更多
sorry, did not like it at all - not much to see there and the most of the site were closed for tourists with no explanation why and what was closed (on positive side - you do not even know what you're missing...); no details available, no one there to ask for help - staff not very helpful (3 intimidating... 更多
We walked to the Villa as part of a walking tour and the climb is relatively steep for the unfit. It will cost about 4 Euro each to enter the ruins but it's worth the cost to see where Tiberius ruled for the last 10 years of this life. Be aware that the ruins are not in a great state... 更多
After a seemingly endless walk, you will reach Villa Jovis. The ruins are in good condition, but there is little information on them. Nevertheless this point has superb views over the bay. Half the joy of the sight is the walk to get here - although uphill, you are able to take in a bit of local culture and enjoy... 更多
After a 45 minute trek up the seemingly never ending hill you will find the Villa Jovis. It certainly is worth the effort to get there. The Emperor Tiberius certainly picked the best spot with magnificent views of the coastline. Considering their age, the ruins are in good condition and you certainly get the impression of its past grandeur.
