Watch them in their habitat, feeding or just generally passing the time of day. There can literally be 20 or more apes at one time and they are very used to tourists. Keep your personal belongings safe as they like to snatch when they think food is about
They are so interesting, they have their own clans and territories. They all have their own spots, antics and personalities.. I love seeing the monkeys.. We took a local tour bus up and they just don't let you hang out.. I would take the cable car and walk down next time just to hang with the Apes

If you go to the rock, you must see the apes - everyone will ask you about them on your return. They are very mischievous and photogenic. Great fun. But follow the rules eg no feeding, no staring into their eyes, do not touch, etc, as they are wild animals.
Once on the rock its hard not to be fascinated by these lovely animals, which aren't apes but macaques, apes don't have tails. Macaques can be vicious and try to steal things so keep bags, sunglasses and photos secure and don't put anything down. Normally they are just playful. Great to see
