The Garajonay National Park is a UNESCO World Heriage Site and crowns the island of La Gomera. With its diverse habitats and protected status it offers a great deal for the visitor who is interested in nature. The area is criss crossed by hiking paths, roads and has many spectacular viewpoints. Laurasilval forests and dry heath or fayalbrenzal cover most... 更多
Most of the park is laurel trees, so one is hiking in the shade. Being there in May, I was past the winter horizontal rain season, so it was nice and dry. The trails are well marked with signs explaining the elevation profile as well as the birds eye view of the island. There were lots of plants with flowers... 更多
If you like walking in green forest this is definitely something for you. If, like me, that doesn't really interest you and you prefer to see great views you will be disappointed as there are only very few places where you get to see a nice grand view. There's a Zona recreativa called Laguna Granda. This is more of an... 更多
There are so many things to do in the park. Magnificent views all over the place and many many great walks. The views will obviously be best on a clear day but there are many walks in the amazing forest that in many ways are enhanced by a bit of mist and cloud.
We went on a guided walk in Garajonay. A minibus dropped us off, and we met the excellent guide, a German lady called Mieke (she spoke excellent English). The walk was about 5 miles, mostly downhill. We loved the misty forest paths - they are very well waymarked. One pleasant surprise was the abundance of colourful flowers along the route.... 更多
The Garajonay National Park, is huge and if you are going from one area to another you are more than likely to go through it. Fantastic for walkers, but if you are going a distance make sure you take supplies with you. The Scenery is amazing, and eerily quiet. The flora and fauna is very diverse. Two words of warning,... 更多
Always take jumpers and a waterproof coat as we experienced lovely hot sunny weather and on another day it was cold, misty and damp. Be prepared for both. Fantastic walks and superb views if it is fine and clear. There are so many lovely walks to do, it really is a walkers paradise. A walking stick is useful. Interesting plants... 更多
It's hard to write a review of the Garajonay Park, without mentioning the rest of the island because, it is very intriguing place to visit which deserves totally separate review...Anyway, I went there in 2011 with Thomson excursion by coach, with a guide. The park itself is a fantastic place, where you can see many endemic plant species, trees covered... 更多
Way up in the mountains of La Gomera is the sensational Garonjay National Park - so misty in the drizzle and so full of dripping Laurels, this is an island where you could imagine pixies and leprochauns living under the hordes of fairytale mushroom fungi. We'd just done a day trip from sunny Los Gigantes and wondered why all the... 更多
