We visited the area twice, lovely little bars where you can have wine, beers food and listen to the locals gossiping
Lovely little shops and then wander off down the little side streets
I would highly recommend this area
Lovely public square in the old town. There are all sorts of shops and restaurants around the arcade. You get an appreciation for clasical style architecture, not even noticing the parking garage that is underneath.
Plaza Nueva in any other city would be called the Plaza Mayor, reminding me of Madrid and Valladolid especially.
A plethora of tiny independently owned bars with excellent pintxos (tapas) at great prices awaits the visitor. I tried 10 or so over a weekend and was delighted with the quality on each occasion. plaza Nueva is an attraction in itself...
Very pleasant courtyard / plaza to spend an hour or two sharing a selection of hot or cold pintxos washed down with a nice bottle of wine surrounded by a mix of locals and tourists, relaxed in the knowledge that it's not breaking the bank to order whatever we choose.
