We just walked through on our way between other sights, but it looks like it would be a great place to spend more time, wandering and shopping. The colorful goods displayed outside of the stores, and the Islamic carvings above the doorways made for a lively neighborhood.
Right next to the Cathedral is this little shopping area. It was less than busy when we were there but we expect could be a bit crazy in summer.
This area use to just sell silks in olden times - until a fire destroyed the area. Now it has a variety of Arabic shops. Lots to look at. The shopkeepers are not pushy, so you are able to leisurely browse.
We absolutely loved shopping here. We all found things to take home. Yes, it was a bit touristy, but we were tourists and we were looking for things unique to the area.
