The old synagogue in Erfurt is well worth a visit. It houses a fabulous medieval hoard hidden probably before a pogram. It also has has the fourteenth century Erfurt Bible. The audio guide is very good. It was 8.00 euros per adult entrance.

A once-forgotten medieval synagoue, which survived as a warehouse and dance hall. Excellent displays of medieval Jewish life in Erfurt, with a superb audio giude in various languages.

My wife and I recently toured the Old Synagogue in Erfurt. The audio guide (available in many languages) worked really well and explained every little detail about The Synagogue in Erfurt and Jewish live in the middle age.
I love seeing old things from the medieval period! And this is actually the only synagogue that lasted for so long and survives all the events Erfurt experienced. Worth checking it out just to mark a V on the most famous landmark this city has.
