My favourite place to take a stroll. Lots of cafes nearby and a short walk across the bridge to Radisson Blu where I was staying. The cruise boats for a lake tour and hop-on hop-off tours depart from this location very frequently. Very convenient & relaxing.
This street runs along the River Trave which in medieval times was a European superport. Some old and some restored warehouse line the river and old fortified bridges still cross it. All points are in walking distanceof the city centre.

As you approach the Holstentor from the town center, there is canal with roads on both side. Its best to start with the left side and then cross over the footbridge to the other side and keep walking along the canal besides rows of beautiful houses and reach the Holstentor again.
