I enjoyed my visit to Cologne, especially walking along the Rhine passing many restaurants and cafes along this parkway area. River boats were docked along the way.
I stopped for a few drinks of the local beer. It was a lovely relaxing day.
This is the absolute best area of the city to take a walk, in my opinion. Between the Rhine and the historic Altstadt, the view is gorgeous and there are lots of small things to see, from sculptures over beautiful buildings to the bridges and the other side of the river.
This is very close to the part of town that has left historical feeling with the small narrow streets and narrow houses. Also, the shopping area, Philharmonic, Ludwig Museum and the *Cathedral* are so close. Take your boat trip on the Rhine river, sit in the restaurants and watch the crowd go by, or bring your own and hang out...
