I bought the app and followed the self-guided walking tour. I thought the landmarks were interesting and pretty easy to find most of the time. It would be helpful if the several sections where the paint has worn away or disappeared due to construction on the sidewalks could be repainted. While it wasn't mentioned in the app but maybe it... 更多
We really enjoyed following the read thread all over Hannover. We picked upa guide book at the tourist info centre near the train station, which was very helpful.
If it is you first time in the city than I would suggest to follow the path. With the brochure that you can buy at the tourist information, you learn a lot about the city. We did few hours to walk the entire path because we took our time to see the monuments and few stops in the local bars... 更多
We bought the book for 3EUR from tourist information and really enjoyed walking around the city. We actually got lost between points 1 and 2 and some of the lines have faded in some parts but that adds to the fun! We ran into another couple who had also managed to get turned around in the old town but for... 更多
We followed "The Red Thread"with a booklet that we bought in the tourist information center. It was very useful and it was an excellent way to quickly see the main landmarks of the city. Around 1.5 - 2.0 walking tour.
It's an alternative for the guided walking tours in the city. The booklet explains things about the city like a guide. Just keep an eye on the book for the pictures of the places you are looking out for. Otherwise, you may miss something.
Bravo for the attempt. Buy the Red Thread book and get started! A great activity for Monday when ALL the museums are closed. Suggestion: The booklet's narrative needs more beta testing performed by strangers to Hannover. It can be much like a riddle. I never did find several sites like the stock exchange; the Aegidientor; or the Gottingen Seven memorial... 更多
I've visited a lot of European cities, Hannover's Red Thread is unique and easy to navigate the towns tourist attractions. Completely self guided, make your way to the tourist office near the Hauptbahnhof and purchase the guide book for €2. You will then have the city at your feet.
Bought the little guide book at the tourist office,(€3) opposite the Hauptbahnhof and conveniently this is where one starts the tour. Its such a great idea but the line really needs to be repainted each year. there were some confusing gaps. One especially outside the Rathaus where due to repaving we lost track of it for some time and missed... 更多
