Wow. The buildings are amazing. Not English friendly but if you understand a bit of German you'll be ok. The rooms are amazing. Artwork is amazing. A lot of walking. Gardens were amazing 30 years ago when I was there. They look like they haven't changed in 30 years...
We visited the "Castle" on a Saturday. The entrance fee is not that much but we were completely dissappointed for the lack of explanations in each room and that the only available información was only in German. While most of the rooms of this castle are occupied by administrative offices, the historic rooms are accessible, and at times it is possible to access the tower. Take a stroll through the park as well, if the weather is nice.
Many people visit Fulda to see the cathedral. Just a few metres away is the city palace of the former abbots of Fulda. This castle and its grounds is beautifully preserved. It is easy to walk around and very elegant. Part of the building is used for city offices and special musical events now, but there is still plenty to explore.
