This temporary building is located right beside the construction sites for the Humboldt Forum/Berliner Schloss & the new U5 connecting underground line. Entry is free and there are some good exhibitions together with a really interesting large-scale model of Berlin in 1900. Also, there is a nice cafe and extensive shop. For me the best thing was the outdoor terraces... 更多
Weird shape, free with fantastic views, lovely terrace cafe at the top. Lots or different exhibition on each floor. Good toilets, we sat on the great sofas for ages catching our breath and taking in the wonderful views from the floor to ceiling windows.
I'm not sure I really understood the meaning of this. It's related to the history of the city, of course, but I felt it was a bit disorganized. Well, I still have a functional tip for it: free restroom ;)
The Humboldt Box gives a terrific view of the development of the reconstruction of the Berlin Palace in the center of Berlin a its future development as a center for the Humboldt Forum and as a museum. There is a fascinating 3D map of Berlin in 1900 inside that is worth the trip alone! There is an outstanding observation deck... 更多
Free entrance to this exhibit inside this really odd shaped building. Was here to collect my Berlin Pass so thought I'd take a look inside. Great rooftop views from the restaurant even if you don't buy anything.
As you might know, a private foundation is reconstructing the former Berlin City Castle, that once belonged to theGerman Imperial family of the Hohenzollern. The reconstructing is an amazing and very succesfull project. It wil make Berlin like It was before the war, an extremely interesting city with lots of beautiful buildings. If you want to see the work going... 更多
This is only temporary setup at the construction site to showcase the reconstruction of the City Palace, Berlin, and it delivers. The information and the exhibits displayed are sufficient and well organised. I can see that it serves as good publicity for the reconstruction project especially the collection of the public donation is still ongoing. The reconstruction seems progressing well... 更多
You think that this is a part of the construction, as all around building material, cranes, etc.But it is a pretty interesting temporary exhibition about the future of the Berlin Castle. Hopefully it will not end like other constructons in Berlin - years of delay like Brandenburg Airport, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, U5, Museuminsel Visitor center, just to name some.
We ended up here because we planned to see other real attractions in the area. Is this an attraction? or an illusion? The view from the fifth floor is worthwhile. The exhibits seemed fractured and, considering the nearby options, wasn't worth the time it took. Perhaps it's useful to see what's planned for the area--a modern castle-like structure--but honestly, in... 更多
A short walk from Alexander Platz, it is a nice little spot to stop by, to have a view at the cathedral as well as one of the Humboldt University Faculty buildings. Worth a visit, especially that it is free :)
