Cathedral of St. Hedwig, in Berlin, is the Berlin Catholic Cathedral. Not to be confused with the Berlin Cathedral, which is protestant. The fact that Germany saw the election of Pope Benedict XVI so shortly ago, the catholic cathedral is not a monument to pass unnoticed to the catholic visitor. Its interior is beautiful for its bareness, and surprising for... 更多
This Roman Catholic Cathedral at Bebel Platz is the seat of the Archbishop of Berlin. Its unconventional interior design will catch you by surprise as its relatively nondescript exterior gives you no clue of the imagination of the architect who put this building together. The church is layered and there are quite a few small chapels in the undercroft with... 更多
We happened on to this church on our way to another location. My husband did not want to take a look, but he finally agreed. The interior is vey modern and unique. It was not what we expected, but we are happy that we took a moment to take a look.

I visited here via a lateral route - I was involved in a production of "Hedwig". What I found was a beautiful cathedral, rather modern in decor and stunning, and a humbling and profound experience of the Silesian princess who became a saint. Recommended
Visit the Protestant 'Dom Cathedral' in Berlin and you will see why Saint Hedwig's is so small. The Munich Cathedral in Bavaria is the normal Catholic Cathedral and the center of Town. Rebuilt in 1953 - the now split level edifice I found to be very modern, clean, simple and beautiful. Online you can find pictures of the original 1773... 更多
