The climb was not exhaustive as it was broken into several different sections but it certainly was dangerously steep. Anyone with a slightly heavier build would find fitting through the openings of the floor challenging to say the least. Be sure to watch the windows when the cuckoo clock chimes. The Rathaus with the other buildings in the main square is one of the best photo ops there is. It feels like going back in time as you stand on the main platz in Rothenburg and look at the lovely old rathaus and the half wood buildings. A climb up the tower is very worthwhile as you can see the wall with its towers and the Tauber valley in the distance.

Rottenberg, like all German towns and cities has it's own town hall (or Rathaus). Rottenberg is blessed with a medieval Rathaus, well decorated and facing a big square. It is still used for civic duties.
