This is an excellent introduction to the history of Germany before WW II, personified by the first elected President of Germany, Friedrich Ebert. The site is free and there is a free English audio guide (needed as the majority of the items are in German). The site is the birthplace and childhood home of Ebert. The house was preserved (though... 更多
This was an excellent museum that was completely free to entre. You went in the flat where Ebert was born and then the museum contained information about him and a bit of the history of Germany in a very ordered, easy to follow, and chronological way. Information was all in German, but you got a free audioguide in English that... 更多
Ebert was a rags to riches fellow in the SDA. The museum is interesting and very well set out. It's free, as is the audio guide without which it wouldn't be worth visiting as there are no English translations. Eberts actual birth house displayed and is evocative. then there is a display and description of his political rise and the... 更多
A detailed and instructive exhibition in the building where Friedrich Ebert, Weimar's Germany first president, great Social Democrat leader was born. They are making efforts to demonstrate how big social democracy and the workers' movement was in Germany, so that we don't only learn about the country's Nazi past - which is good, I think.
Museum run by Federal Government to commemorate the first President of the Republic Friedrich Ebert. Museum and audio guide are free. Audio Guide was very helpful and easy to use. Museum is quite big and explains the life of Friedrich Ebert in the context of German and European history. It was very informative and not only about the man but... 更多
Wow, I was really impressed with this museum. Tucked away in the Aldstadt, it would be easy to miss but if you get the chance you should definitely go. It is completely free. The displays are very informative - plus you have the option of having a portable, personal audio guide - in English. Really well thought out, interactive museum.
Anyone interested in Germany's ultimately unsuccessful experiment with democracy between the wars should not miss this museum, which centres on the Weimar Republic and its president Friedrich Ebert. He was from Heidelberg and rose from an apprenticeship as a saddler to be the most powerful man in the Republic. Although the museum is labelled in German an audio guide in... 更多
An excellent museum. Too bad all the inscriptions are in German but there might be an English language audio guide (not sure, didn't ask for it). The exhibition describes a very interesting part of Germany's history.
I didn't know this guy came from Heidelberg in spite of having worked with his Foundation (Friedrich Ebert Stiftung) in... 更多
