This Castle and Museum is well worth taking time to visit - it is great value for money and has many different exhibits including old and contemporary art, an Aquarium of lake fishes and an account of how the castle was restored to its now glory.
This is an excellent 14th century medieval château from the outside and is very enticing. The château has been transformed into museums. There is a small part of the museum dedicated to wooden chests of the time and some medieval armoury items, however most of the museums are dedicated to various kinds of art and have little to do with... 更多
I like to visit castles and "chateaux" that are as they were when people lived in them, and if a guided tour is available, all the better. But this castle is like a classroom exercise. There are a variety of displays in the Chateau from modern art to history of the lake. You also get stunning views of the lake and old town from the Chateau which is on a hill overlooking the city. It was well worth the low cost of admission.
Advertised as a museum, this chateau delivers much more. It explains the fascinating history of Savoy's itinerant rulers and their extravagant lifestyle in French, German, Italian and English (the translations were sketchy at times). The castle is a delight of towers and halls, with a bizarre ancient furniture exhibit to give you a feel for mediaeval life. My favourite part... 更多
5.20€ admission full price and got my money's worth. Some bits interesting..modern art just...odd (eg large plastic finger nail on top of pile of leaves!) The castle has been restored and museum is in one bit (to left in courtyard) and a display about lakes including real live fish (in lower floor ) in building across courtyard to right. Plenty... 更多
We really enjoyed our visit to this Chateau, all the the information was in three languages, French, English and Italian. The exhibits were very interesting, well labelled and after our visit we felt we had a better understanding of the history of the Savoy region of France. The staff were able to answer any questions we had too. Visiting a... 更多
