On a walk around La Rochelle with friends we decided to visit the Towers. The views are exceptional of the La Rochelle city and surrounding suburbs. Great insight to the history of the La Rochelle port and city. Little bit pricey but the views make up for it.
This is not just a tower (tour) It is much bigger than it looks and is full of history which is beautifully explained and displayed. Frankly, we were blown away and enjoyed it far more than we thought we were going to. Do get a ticket for all three towers - the additional two towers cost very little extra but... 更多
The tower is definitely worth a visit, if just for the views of the city. The rooms are interesting and I spent about 30 minutes here, but it was the least interesting of the towers to me.
Not a place to make a special journey to but as part of a tour of the city a good place to spend half an hour. Make sure you buy a ticket to see the group of towers rather than buy separately.
St. Nicolas Tower is the tallest tower and the largest of the three towers in La Rochelle. 5€ entrance fee or 8€ to do all three and your ticket is valid up to 24 hours. St. Nicolas has a maze of stairways and some chambers inside it's cylindrical tower. Access to the very top gives breathtaking views of the sea... 更多
Definitely interesting to see. The towers are beautiful and have a lot of very narrow stairs and strong wind coming inside but this is a life experience. Historic and unique experience. Buy the ticket for the 3 towers at 8 euros instead of 6 euros for each tower!... Worth it.
Interesting edifice, lots of history. English (free) guide for visitors. €5 entry, but free for European residents up to 25 years old. (need passport or ID card). Wonderful views over La Rochelle, and out to sea. lots of stairs, some not in the best condition, so may not be suitable for the less steady of foot.
Very interesting,: the three towers are for me the most beautiful things in La Rochelle. I suggest to buy the ticket for the three towers, even if you just see two, you save money (1 for 6, 3 for 8.509, under 18 free!)., but you should see all the 3.
Very enjoyable and learnt a lot. Close by to the restaurants so was nice to go to two of the three then have lunch and finish the last one off in the afternoon. Incredible experience. Free for em as aged between 18 and 25. Provided in English as well.
