We visited during an exhibition of Impressionist paintings with many covering Honfleur and many by Boudin himself. Not a large gallery but worth a visit remembering that this exhibition may not be on by the time you visit.
The museum presented as advertised. There is a nice concentration of Honfleur and Norman artists, including Boudin. The collection is presented in a precise, sensible manner in a lovely building.
Great exposition...... to be young in the age of the impressionists.... great exhibits.... Hambourg/Monet/Morisot/Laval/Boudin...... plus lots of others.... Wonderful Museum.... ps pity you now have to pay 12 euro to cross the Pont de Normandy(6 euro each way) to go to Le Havre who also have a great museum on the sea front. With Baudelaire and Satie plus the beautiful... 更多
We came to see exhibition of impressionists. It's just matter of my taste ... however I think that the best pictures by impressionists are hold in Orsay, Hermitage, Louvre, National gallery etc. We didn't met any picture that we really loved or were impressed by... And if you are not a fan of Boudin himself - doesn't worth it.
Interesting art gallery with a focus on impressionists and artists with local connections. I was particularly looking forward to the ethnography gallery (local customs, costume, furniture etc) but it's currently closed.
A great collection of a lot of famous artist that have had Honfleur as their base - or connections to the place. Well organized and number of art works made it difficult to digest, but it was a great collection away from the Honfleur heat. Well Worth a visit.
We spent a day in Honfleur, and the museum was a highlight of our day. It's a fairly small museum, but they pack a lot into the space. Impressionist art is my favorite, and it was a treat to be able to see the exhibits in a smaller, less crowded venue. It's on three floors, but there are elevators so... 更多
The small Honfleur Boudin museum is a treasure trove for viewing art pieces from this not so well known member iPod the Impressionist school. Nice additional assemblages also. You'll recognize local landmarks amongst the paintings. Easy to find in walking uphill a few blocks from the Basin. Enjoy....
I like the french style of museum/gallery where you can get close to the paintings. The art is well presented and there is plenty of light and space to appreciate each piece. I had hoped to see more Monet works.
