This cathedral is stunning. There are works of art everywhere in it, and the stain glass windows can only be appreciated in real life.
We seen two free concerts that were put on there last weekend, and they really added to the experience. Especially the 4 tenors. They were brilliant, and gave us goosebumps singing while we were looking at...
Beautiful architecture, gorgeous stained glass.
We had the good fortune to be present during a performance by a vocal quartet, Ave Maria. A church is where choral music should be performed. We both had tears in our eyes.
A beautiful 12th century Romanesque/Gothic church in the centre of the medieval city of Carcassonne.
Interesting mixture of architectural styles, but the crowning glory of the church is the magnificent stained glass windows, some of which date back to 1280.
Carcassonne is full of gems - this is one of them.
We popped in as part of our self-guided walk around the old town. Even our kids, who aren't really into old churches, thought the architecture and stained glass windows were stunning.
A pleasant diversion from the hustle and bustle.
