Located directly across the street from the palace, it's a must see. It a rather small gallery but definitely worth the stop if you're visiting the chateau. Plus, it's free entry. The carriages are beautiful decorated, and we were surprised by their enormous size. It's a great glimpse into the past.
Very interesting exhibition. It's quite short (you can walk through even in 20 min), but carrosses are unique. Entrance is for free, at left end-side there is good short movie.
...for those interested in horses...or in an opulent lifestyle...added treat if you can time your visit with the training of the National Equestrian Academy
I just reviewed this place under a different heading since trip advisor didn't recognize the name in English. Again, a lovely side trip, magnificent coaches, and it's all free. It really proves the point that it's good to be the king! Take a break from the crowds at Versailles, cross the street, and spend less than an hour here. It... 更多
Just across the road from the main Palace. Beautiful old carriages wonderfully preserved, match the opulence of the Palace. Good interpretive facilities to explain the provenance of each and the technical developments they represent. The Royal Coronation Coach and Hearse are unique examples of craftsmanship and probably cannot be equalled anywhere else. Be prepared to queue at busy times as... 更多

Was also lovely to see the magnitude of the stables as they would have been. Good clear information on the carriages. Nicely laid out and very interesting to see the sleds for... 更多
This free exposition shows you some of the most beautiful carriages you will have ever seen. It really gives you the feel of how things used to be. You need no more than an hour (or less) to visit this expo, but it is worth your visit!
We visited Versailles mid morning on a Tuesday. Apart from being amazed with the outside and surrounds of the palace the extent of the queues was nothing we had ever seen before. We decided to skip visiting the interior but had noticed there were horses training across at the stables. We were pleasantly surprised to find part of the stables... 更多
