We would not have reached here had it not been for guidance by our hosts who had been to Biarritz from Caumont. It is worth engaging a guide to understand the history and the beauty of the Chapel. The diverse cultures and the architecture that come together are indeed worth studying.
This is a "must see", otherwise you will miss out on French architecture. When I used to travel to France, Biarritz was an important stop; I had a picture of me bathing in the sea!
This little gem of a Chapel was commissioned by Empress Eugenie who was married to Napoleon 3rd. It has some mosaics reminiscent of Alhambra in Spain, Byzantine and Roman architecture and decorations.
