I visited here after noticing signs on the main road advertising the steam railway gala and thought i might as well have a nosey as I only live a few miles away and have passed this place on numerous occasions over the years and never really knew much about it. My kids loved it they are 10 & 2. There... 更多
West Lancs Railway is right on my doorstep and the place most visited when my nephew was younger and into Thomas Tank Engine. He is now nearly 15! I try and go regularly to support them and take my Yorkie Pippin who is 15 but loves the ride. The trains are in tip top condition and although the journey is... 更多
Called here on the way to Southport, easy to find. The booking office / gift shop / café, was manned by a gentleman who oozed passion about the railway, told us many interesting facts about the railway, engines and future plans. £3.00 buys a ticket which allows you as many rides throughout the day as you want. The track isn't... 更多
Last visited here in about 1985! and it was time to return so picked a steam gala weekend. It was terrific - all the steam engines (5 operating) were in such beautiful order. Shiny and so well looked after. There was much fun with organs, meccano exhibits, railway exhibits model and narrow gauge and lots more. Everyone was happy and... 更多
We love the steam trains and come most Sunday's! The railway runs past the bottom of our garden and the kids love to watch it pass by. The special events are fab with plenty to do and see. The teddy bears outing and Christmas train are the kids favourites. Beautiful engines.
The voulenteeres really make this quaint little railway worth visiting, to date it is definatly the shortest ride we have been on but the lovely voulenteeres really keep you happy and are helpful cheerful and informative, the railway itself is lovely and worth a visit and if it's a nice day you can sit on the picnic benches and watch... 更多
I booked the strawberries and steam event here, for a surprise for my Husband and 3 children for Fathers Day after seeing the website, It was smaller than I was expecting but a good day anyway, the volunteers were all very friendly and talked about the trains and station with much enthusiasm. I was looking forward to a slightly longer... 更多
This great little railway has a lot of atmosphere and an unusual history. We hired a train for the day and had a thoroughly good time. The staff are friendly & although the line is only short, it's well worth a look at. Visit their website...
The map with a 'pin' shows the West Lancs Light Railway as being at Bamber Bridge. This is a misleading map and quite useless as Hesketh Bank, where the railway is actually located, is some mile to the west.
