Love this cathedral. It is different from most -- yes, has pillars and altar and pews -- but it is wider than long, it seems. Also, there is a grotto half-way up the left where you wouldn't expect to see one. Then another surprise is the rather large room in the front left corner reserved for daytime Adoration. Such a beautiful church. So many statues of all the saints. The Waterford chandeliers are wonderful. There is also a lovely Waterford plaque with The Sacred Heart which was donated to the church. I personally love visiting churches and this one is very special. Worth a visit if you like or appreciate churches.
This was surprisingly small and informal, more like a local parish church in its atmosphere, but with some attractive stained glass windows and a calm serene feel to the place. An interesting contrast to the Protestant cathedral a few hundred yards away, designed by the same person.
We visited this Roman Catholic Cathedral and it is a another wonderful building. Displays of children who had taken first communion were a feature at this time. Despite being Anglicans we always appreciate quality buildings of other faiths.
This church is worth a look, for the decorations provide a look at life in Waterford. The numerous crystal chandeliers let observers know that they are in Waterford, and the tributes and memorials within the church speak to events gone by.
Beautiful Cathedral in the centre of town. Open much of the day to visitors. Mass each morning. Well worth a visit - irrespective of religious beliefs.
Visited here today to see this church. From the outside in a side street it does not look like a church. Open door and walk inside big wow. Very interesting and seems well constructed. Take your time and walk slowly, hats off, talk softly.
This is the oldest Catholic Cathedral in Ireland with a beautiful carved pulpit, stained glass windows, paintings etc. Worth a visit.
