Called today on a tour. My tourists all from California were polite but I knew they were not happy. A very underperforming site. I'm a stonemason with over thirty years experience and I've never seen so many walls knocked down. I found it hard to comprehend the site. Is it real? Probably so but come on like give us some... 更多
This ancient Neolithic site is fascinating, and Heritage Ireland should be commended for their work. The site is about 5000 years old, and in the interim has been covered in turf. It consists of a mass of stone walls covering an extensive area, but only a small area is developed for tourists. The walls have not all been revealed, with... 更多
This is informative if you don't previously understand the geology and botany of the bog. The inside displays are well done. The outside area is simply a loop trail showing small sections of the uncovered walls and one living area. There are no descriptive signs outside. The first person we met was not helpful. The person at the desk was... 更多
I visited the Ceidi Fields on a day trip from Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the first signpost was 34km away from the site. There were three more signs on the way, which was great. It is a simple place to find and has stunning views of the surrounding countryside (I was there on a beautifully sunny... 更多
Reasonably priced to get in!! Staff at counter were friendly enough.......video presentation was excellent very informative!! Went on the guided tour outside, managed to stay outside for 3 minute's had to come back in as the midgets were in there millions and biting like mad but that's got to do with the nature of the place......viewing gallery was brilliant.....the exhibition... 更多
We did the guided tour of this neolithic site, but fell away after the first stop as it felt like we were being corralled by an inexperienced primary school teacher who admonished her audience about potential questions prior to the tour. Not endearing. The rest of the staff seemed cheerful and helpful, I guess we were unlucky. We pottered about... 更多
While there isn't much here the history of what is here is quite facinating. 5000 year old walls are only a bunch of rocks but the story of how these were the earliest settlers in Ireland is quite good. The tour guide we had was also fantastic. The view over the cliffs off the fields is quite impressive too.
Was delighted to see the disabled parking sign at the ceide fields on my first visit. Was with my mother who is unfortunately bound to a wheelchair. After parking up and navigating my mum into the building we found out that in fact she would not be able to see the ceide fields at all. This is entirely unacceptable after... 更多
