Visited dunmore cave today with fiance and 5 year old son. 10 euro admission for us all . Wasnt expectimg much but it was a fantastic experience . Tour guide michael was not only informative but engaging and entertaining . The best guide for any tour i have ever been on .
Our guide, Michael, was absolutely fantastic. I recommend everyone traveling in Ireland check out this cave. It's steeped in history of Vikings and treasure, some of which may still be undiscovered. Also, down in the depths, when tourists aren't snooping around, fairies have a grand ol' dance. The spot is cleared of rocks for their gallavanting, as you can see... 更多
I hadn't been here for about 30 years and brought tow of my kids along to pass some time on a July morning. Reasonable entry at €8 for the three of us and if we wanted at the end of the tour we could have put that €8 towards a n OPW family season ticket for €60. this is tucked... 更多
Visited here as part of day trip to Kilkenny. Very knowledgeable guides brought us through the cave and highlighted some beautiful cave features as well as giving geographical and human history information such as the massacre by the Vikings. Very enjoyable. There are about 300 steps down and 300 back up so take your time on the way down and... 更多
Go early and there was hardly anyone else on the tour. As we exited the cave the next round of tour was very large. They tell you all about the geology and history of the caves including showing examples of how it came to be and where there was Viking activity. The cave is cool, so bring a jacket. If... 更多
I really enjoyed the tour and hearing about the local stories such as the faerie floor. The cave itself is ok although I have seen more impressive caves. It is worth a visit for the tour guides stories if you are in the area.
amazing place. what a wonderful 2 hours (the tour doesnt take that long but we spend over an hour talking to the guide before and after, getting more information, looking at every piece in the museum. fascinating. The staircase around the landing between the cave entrance and the museum is so cool!! the guide will explain why every step is... 更多
Arrived to be met by a man coming over to the car, force of habit thought he was going to tell me we couldn't park there. Oh no, he'd run out from the centre when he saw us pull up to let us know a tour had just started and if we hurried we could catch it €4 each for... 更多
This is another one of the OPW (Office of Public Works) tours, which always tend to have excellent tour guides. Our tour guide for this (Helen) was no exception - in fact of all the OPW sites we saw, she was the best. Although this is not the biggest cave in Ireland, nor the best geographic specimen you may have... 更多
