Would love to see a bit of modernisation happening in the tired, jaded and boring promenade that is Salthill. Shame on you Galway for leaving Salthill behind! Need I say more?
We stayed at the Salthill Hotel, so a walk along the promenade was a daily ritual before or after breakfast. This is where you'll see the locals with the kids and dogs enjoying a beautiful day. this is a must visit when in Galway. the walk across the promenade is great with an array of restaurants in Salthill market area. the colour of the sea, the sea gulls and other birds are surely exhilarating as an experience
An excellent and beautiful shop to visit whether for a short or long walk. Lots of seating if you get tired and the views of the bay are excellent; you can often see the Aran Islands on a clear day.This is the most favourite 'thing to do' by Galway residents, walking the prom.
A perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. The prom is reasonably long and scenic all the way. A perfect way to take a break from the busy Galway streets while seeing some iconic Irish landscape in the distance.
