We went on the walk along here and it is so beautiful,our only regret was we would have loved to have been there when the salmon are running,but we are going to return to try and see this,it sounds amazing,the fisherman stand waist deep in the water and you can see them just before the Cathedral,which is on the river.
This is a lovely riverside walk from Bridge St to nearly Salmon Weir Bridge. We stopped and saw Brown Trout and lots of Eels and elvers swimming. A first for us. My wife enjoyed exploring the riverside walks which took us to some of Galway's attractions. We watched fly fishermen in the River Corrib fishing for salmon. Lots of people were sitting relaxing, eating and taking in the sights. Definitely worth a visit and stroll.
