Very cool experience. A concert of instrumental traditional Irish music, complete with an Irish dancer for some of it. Mostly music was played on concertina. You get to be up close and ask questions. We were slightly disappointed that there was no singing but overall, a very good, worthwhile exposure to traditional Irish music.
If you are in Galway and looking for a delightful, informative and fun evening, you must attend "Tunes in the Church". It's right in the heart of all the activity of Galway's music/restaurants/nightlife and a real treat. In addition to some great traditional music, you will learn the history of this church which was built 700 years ago. (Christopher Columbus... 更多
This is a nice, intimate night out in Galway. it's great if you want to hear wonderful music without the feel of a pub setting. There is lots of interaction with the performers. Really recommend this a night out in Galway.
The church setting was dramatic and with excellent acoustics. The event was quite intimate with only about 40-50 seats and lots of interaction with the musicians. We attended with our children (19 and 15) and they probably didn't enjoy it as much as we did, but perhaps they were looking forward to the next item on our program which was... 更多
We were looking for Irish music without having to wait until 9:30 and having to fight the crowds in a pub. This met this expectation. It may have been the night we went, but the first performer, while a good musician seemed very anxious as she talked about her music. The brother and sister act were much better. None of... 更多
A lovely church, easy to get to, with great acoustics for enjoying Irish music. We attended a couple of concerts here. The seating was intimate, the atmosphere was relaxed, the quality of the musicians and dancer was excellent. It was over too quickly. I highly recommend this to anyone who really wants to enjoy music (especially if you aren't crazy... 更多
We stumbled upon this as we were walking through the Latin Quarter after dinner. Concerts are held every Mon, We'd and Fri from 8 pm til about 10. We were treated to a man playing pipes, a woman doing Seannos (step dancing) a fiddler and an accordion-like instrument. It was a great way to enjoy the evening.
My wife and I went to last nights performance. It was wonderful. The venue, acoustics and talent of the musicians and dancer were more than I could have imagined. It was very intimate, entertaining and very Celtic. It was so nice to hear the musicians talk about the songs and the dancer explain the history of the arts. The tour... 更多
