Popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a tour. Staff were kind enough to wait on us as we were a few mins late. Tour guide made it very interesting and were happy to answer any questions. Will definitely come back for stargazing evening.
This is one of only four public observatories in the UK. It is a great place to visit and, during the winter, they hold star gazing events. I did one of these star gazing events and I loved it. I went with a couple of friends and they both really enjoyed themselves as well. I would recommend this to anyone.
Having visited many years ago when it was overcast I thought it would be good to visit again tonight (31st March) when the skies were clear. What a place to visit, lived in Paisley all my life, and never visited this building. Decided to go to there winter viewing nights, Tuesday and Thursday's. Enjoy all the exhibitions her, have visited many times with a variety of age groups and we have always had a great time. The chance to look at the planets is a marvelous experience, also some of the amateur astronomers allowed us to look through their telescopes and explained some things as well, which was a great treat.
