Bar is alright with a decent selection of drinks and relatively friendly staff. Where this pub comes into its own is the giant beer garden which gets very busy but is rather pleasant on warm days. Overall this pub lacks character but the beer garden is a win.
Just watching Wimbledon final and wishing we were at the pear tree with its 22 metre square tv but I'm not fab place to watch sports etc but obviously does get busy. Don't think it serves food apart from a burger bar in the garden, however a fab place and wish it was my local
A load of us dropped in after a show at the Festival for a few drinks. As you'd expect it was busy! We stayed for a few rounds and all was fine. This place has a wee know beer garden for drinking outside but it was raining when we were there so we stayed inside
Arrived and was quiet for what we hoped would be a nice drink before a meal elsewhere. Hadn't been there for years and wanted to try it again but won't be back. Average service and horrendously expensive for 2 drinks. Over the odds for the place it is. Disappointed!
The beer garden is nice but they seem to expect it to carry their business... which it sadly seems to do. Drinks are very expensive without student ID and it's a bit of a joke trying to get served at the bar which has been designed to make it *easy* to get served. If you fancy a pint outside in... 更多

However, the Edinburgh summer is notoriously unpredictable, and at all other times of the year, you might as well face the fact that sitting outside will... 更多
It was a typical January day in Edinburgh. Pouring and cold. I needed a heat and a beer. I have been here before and enjoyed the beer garden not an option today, unless you had webbed feet. I was soaked and the helpful staff pointed to a seat beside the roaring coal fire. I enjoyed the Alchemy IPA which is... 更多
I went to the Pear Tree pub with a friend of mine last night, when we were in search of a pleasant pub which was not overly crowded and also not overpriced. The Pear Tree fitted all of these criteria. They have a big 'beer garden' area in front of the main pub, with lots of benches and a big... 更多
I wish I could score this place s 0. Unless you are a student you are not welcome. My friends and I went and were asked to leave as a too vocal, shame as the owner lost in the region of £300 in business. So up their own backside and would never go back. More fun in a library
