Went to this restaurant as near our hotel. It was very busy both nights but did wait for table on second night. It's sort of "fend for yourself" as far as getting a table. Locals know the drill. We were lucky to get a table upstairs on the balcony. Nice ambience. Pretty casual. Food was straightforward and decent.
If you happen to come across this pub on your travelles. You MUST have the rib-eye steak. OH MY GOD, I've had many steaks in my life and that is in the top 3. It was truly amazing. Only a small restaurant but it's very nice. You can have a really good laugh with Asten our waitress who is a... 更多
Another lovely old fashioned pub just off Princess Street. The bar looks fantastic with a wonderfully ornate wooden surrounding and the ceiling is also a work of art. The pub has a large selection of real ales and whiskies. Being an Orcadian, I was delighted to see at least two Orkney beers, one of which I sampled. The staff were... 更多
Only had drinks but such a beautiful pub inside, the decor and details on the ceiling are lovely. It still has that classic pub feeling to it which is nice as a lot of places seems to be losing their uniqueness but happy to see this is not the case at the Guildford. Great selection of tap beers too.
Went for late lunch twice. Great location just off Priness Street and North Bridge at Waterloo, north side of road. Great selection of beers and a place where lots of the local population goes to. A place where everybody knows your name.
The Guildford Arms should be listed as a Pub as the restaurant section which is good is not the main reason people go in. They have a terrific selection of beers, single malt and blended whiskies. So, if you don't mind take my word for it, it is a pub first and a restaurant second.
We had booked for a lunch on 18/08/16 and found the food and the service first class. We meet every 3 months so decided there and then to book our table for November. The smoked mackerel pate was amazing. Thanks to all concerned.
This is a superb Victorian-style pub. From haddock pâté to cod steak with chorizo and lentils, the menu is refined and combines with traditional fayre such as steak and ale pie and fish and chips. There are 5-6 tables on the mezzanine level. Service was friendly and personal.
2nd visit to this bar. Ordered a few rounds then fancied some chips. Wouldn't let us order a bowl of chips for the table unless we were buying a bowl each ? Sorry ! You have now lost us retuning or let alone having another round. Staff at bar were also grumpy - when Asked to try a drink they... 更多
