An image of what I remembered of Edinburgh from when I was here 25 years ago that I went past this time I came, the narrow cobbled street, tall old buildings hanging over the street, a church in the middle of the road, leading out to a large open expanse of the esplanade, which in itself is something to behold... 更多
We were staying in the centre and decided to have a walk along here which was nice, nice shops and church leading up to the castle. Nice views from the entrance way to the castle. Can get busy along here especially during the day, at night it is quieter and it is also nice. Would say visit here
Our son loved the cannons and generaliy enjoyed the visit. We had tea in the tea rooms, which was expensive, over 20 quid for three drinks and cakes, and they served the scones cold and all the staff were foreign. Whilst it's great they can attend people in their own languages, it would be nice to have felt a little... 更多
Nice place to walk from Hollyrood up through old town & towards the Edinburgh castle. Lots of shops & a few museums etc along the way. A good place to start would be hollyrood or parliament & make your way up the hill to the castle. There are plenty of shops, cafes & bars along the way.
We enjoyed this area with variety of touristy shops, bars & eateries, great architecture & lots of interesting things to amuse you on the way up to the castle. Also this area is where you will find the Trishaw guys who will whisk you home much quicker than any other way as they can use the cycle lanes, great when... 更多
This is a lovely part of Edinburgh to walk around. Really picturesque buildings. Situated near the Royal Mile so really easy to get to!
As tourist visitors to Edinburgh, we thoroughly enjoyed visiting this narrow road which runs through the Old Town uphill towards the Edinburgh Castle esplanade. The road is bordered on each side by a host of shops, cafes and bars housed in old buildings and which provide plenty of opportunities for tourists like us, to spend their money. During our visits... 更多
What an amazing area of our city. The castle at the top which is a great attraction to visit, Camera Obscura which is such fun for all the family, the quality Scotch Whisky Experience - wow & the Witchery & Continis to dine in. A must for anyone visiting the city. And great concerts in the summer on the Esplanade!
Castlehill is the section of the Royal Mile leading to the castle esplanade. It is very busy with tourists. You can have your photo taken with a "braveheart" soldier or even visit the Camera Obscura among other things.
