I could sit there all day to watch the world go by but there are virtually NO seats But, the Pipers were the real deal Great Scots Ambassadors.
This is one of my favourite art galleries . A beautiful and important collection from the renaissance to the beginning of the 20thC, all wonderfully displayed in classical and modern rooms. The old section, mostly red or green, is particularly spectacular. The art is top quality with an emphasis, but not overwhelmingly so, on Scottish artists. As if to set... 更多
i really enjoyed this museum. It had loads of impressive art, yet was small enough so it didn't overwhelm. The building, although old, had lots of natural light due to skylights put in. This really gave the whole place an airy, open feeling - very unusual for an art museum. The restaurant on the lower level is very good and... 更多
I'm a culture vulture, so loved this museum. Some wonderful Romneys and other strong works, though some hung so high you'll get a crick in your neck looking at them!
It's so interesting to walk pass so many fabulous paitings. The descriptions attached are so easily for people to know more about the background.
We stopped in there to get out of the wind for a bit. I am not overly into artwork, but I enjoyed going in and checking out the galleries. Only spent about 30-40 there.
Before my first visit I didn't know how wonderful art collection they have in Edinburgh. I took my time and went back next day. I really recommend this museum. (There's quite nice museum shop as well.)
