I usually pop down here once a week, on a nice day your hard pushed to find a nicer place to spend some time than down the ferry. The castle is always a nice sight and well worth popping in to have a look round, iconic history on your doorstep or if your travelling be sure to pop by and... 更多
If you're visiting Dundee for the day, its worth stopping by this charming castle to explore (there is no officially entry charge just a suggested donation box) a piece of Dundee history. Over a number of floors history is explained with museum style sign postings and interesting things to look at. Observation deck on the top is enclosed so there's... 更多
Not a top class place to visit but I found it really nice. Great staff and small scale museum. Lots of stairs though. A quaint sort of place but don't pass it by too readily. I believe it closes in winter. Has a nice walk near the river as well. The little town nearby is worth a quick look too.
Visited the castle today as part of an open doors event in DUNDEE, as we were given the opportunity to see the underground ammunition storage area which the public are not normally allowed into. The museum is free and open every day apart from Monday. The exhibits are very interesting particularly to locals with glimpses of the past all round... 更多
Built in the 15th century, Broughty Castle occupies a strategically strong location near the mouth of the River Tay. Although part of the Historic Scotland portfolio, the property is managed locally and is free to visit. Despite seeing military action over the years, the main tower is substantially intact and acts as a small museum on several floors. Access to... 更多
Well worth a visit which will cost you nothing. The castle is in effect a museum, each floor having interesting displays of artefacts of local history including the Pictish era, whaling industry, local wildlife and much more. A viewing room at the top of the castle provides panoramic views over the Tay estuary and its worth bringing a pair of... 更多
Well what a gem of a place, right at the mouth of the river Tay. Free entry to what I can only say is a very educational, informative, interesting fun place to visit. Had our two grand kids with us, two boys 5 and 3, they had a great time, lots for them to look at and interact with, would... 更多
Had a nice day in Broughty ferry with a trip to the castle. The kids loved every minute of it. Haven't been here myself since school ( many years ago). Was pleasantly surprised at how educational it was. Will definately be going back with the kids.
