This Castle with its pink hue has a look like no other. It stands out magnificently from the emerald green lawns and surrounds. A photographer's delight. What a pity it had closed for the season when we arrived in late October. It would be great to see it inside at some future time. Our GPS had trouble taking as to... 更多
One of the best castles to visit on the castle trail in the NE of Scotland... only open during summer months as they don't have electric lighting - but you do get to see it as the families that lived there would. Yo can only get guided tours which is a real plus as you get a very informative visit!
We have visited Craigievar Castle over many visits to Douneside House DeeSide. This is a great day out with an interesting castle and beautiful grounds. Check opening times.
Beautiful grounds. Lovely castle set in the countryside. Nice garden walks. Lots of parking. Beautiful setting. Castle is small, but very beautiful.
It had been several years since we had visited this castle and were delighted with its 'recent' internal renovation. The elderly gentleman in his Highland Outfit was very welcoming and our guide for the tour, Rhoanna Cruikshank - my apologies if I have misspelt her name - delightful and informative. The outside view from the top was well worth the... 更多
This grand old tower house is well worth a visit and our guide Rhona made the visit all the more magical. The castle is tucked away in the Aberdeenshire countryside but well worth the trip.
What to add that others haven't already said? Fairytale. Beautiful. Perfection in pink. If you see only one castle in Scotland, make it this one. The climb through a maze of spiral stairs, vaulted hall and old pannelled rooms with the most exquisite plaster ceilings, right up on to the roof is a tour you will never forget. Guides are... 更多
When we had visitors to stay, Craigievar was at the top of the list of places to show them. We have been many times but each time find out something different to make the magic of the castle come alive. This time we managed to do the hill walk around the grounds to enjoy the views around the castle. It... 更多
As a wet weather option on our tour (a wise north of the border!) we joined the National Trust of Scotland and visited 4 properties in and around the Cairngorms and this by far was our favourite. Craigievar is picture postcard perfect...the quintessential idea of a romantic castle in the Highlands. We arrived late in the day and had the... 更多
What a fab castle, went with 3 generations of a family, kids thoroughly engaged with the guide and a quiz who was excellent. Very informative, great Scottish history and personal histories of the families who'd lived there. It does belong to the National Trust but is the least National Trust place I have been to I.e. No cafe, no shop... 更多
