We just stumbled across this place looking at a map - it's tucked away in the Co. Down countryside and it was fantastic! A bit of a mission to find as its not well sign posted but access is on Ballynoe Rd and along a footpath which you can just make out on Google Maps. Well worth a visit!
The stone circles are about 5 minutes walk from the main road along a narrow tunnel-like lane. There are some good views looking towards The Mourne Mountains and the stones themselves make for a nice photo or two. For health and safety reasons human sacrifices are no longer allowed at Ballynoe. The grass around is long and could do with... 更多

Stopped here on my travels round downpatrick recently , peaceful and quiet. Enjoy the time out sitting among the stones nice out of the way place to catch your breath and collect your thoughts well worth a stop
Beautifully maintained, access through wonderful natural archway of hedging and trees along the access laneway - kept nicely by the farmer. A real sense of ancient stones, wonderful views towards the mountains. Read up before you go and get a real sense of the ancient past in Ireland.

Enchanting little walk down a wee pathway to wonder at a stone circle. If you are lucky you may see a fairy or one of them leprechauns. Cows galore in adjacent field giving knowing looks!
