We happened upon this wonderful museum. It is free, but they could charge $10 per person, and it would still be a value. Plus, the cafe has wonderful chocolate muffins! The museum has several sections. One: the building was previously used as a jail (gaol) and the exhibits provide information on the cells and other aspects of the jail. There... 更多
We arrived late for our pre- booked tour deal but staff coped admirably. We started in the coffee bar with a lunch of home made soup or stew with crusty bread or wheaten followed by tea, coffee and tray bakes which were beautifully prepared expertly served by friendly and helpful staff. Our tour guide was Maire and she was fantastic. Very... 更多
This free museum has an excellent collection of exhibits on the history of the area from pre-historic times to the present day. It helps you to understand the complex background to today's situation. The staff were very helpful and the cafe has a great view over the Mound of Down.
We took our two young children to the museum only expecting to spend a hour there but stayed for nearly 4, the museum is both fun for children and interesting with many hands on displays. The restaurant serves a very wide range of delicious food and has wonderful views. I was very happy to see the museum also employs people... 更多
Was just killing time and came across this museum. It's small but we'll presented. I think young teens would really appreciate it. The cafe is really great. Worth it for the view alone. Had Green tea, so they cater for weirdos like me.
Well worth a visit for some interesting well kept secrets from the past. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very knowlegable. The exhibits are well displayed and lit. The cafe has a good selection of freshly prepared food, set in a very well presented area with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Lots of seasonal activities put on for children.... 更多
The museum has a great way of teaching about the history of Ulster. The exhibits are interesting and worth a visit.
Spent a good few hours - great displays on history of the gaol, and on local history in particular. Good café, with lovely view overlooking Cathedral
Took a large group of older people on a work trip to the gaol museum. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, staff were very friendly and offered foldable chairs throughout the visit. Very well laid out and a good range of artefacts on show. Tearoom had a lovely selection of food.
