I visited on the Saturday of the European Heritage Open Days. The exterior is very grand, a real industrial / empire era statement. Long facade, tall, big front steps, stylised scallop shells in arches, and lots of smooth Doric columns. The inside is very opulent. More columns, mosaic floors, sculptures, very tall ceilings, huge doors, and a very impressive staircase.... 更多

However it looked as if we had picked the wrong day of the two days that it was open to the public. I went to the reception where two people were sitting to inquire... 更多
As part of the European Heritage Open Day two friends and I visited this impressive building. The guide was very interesting and knowledgeable and gave us a thorough account of the Commission, its role, its inception and its future. I really was impressed with everything the commission is responsible for!!

I was very fortunate to attend a dinner with the Ulster University. The venue is exceptionally good showing the history and character of Belfast. The outside catering was very good.
Interesting insight into the offices of the Harbour Commissioners and the men of power in Belfast over the years. Stately rooms, halls and staircases bedecked with large paintings.
Fab architecture, but some really interesting paintings & the Titanic table that didn't make it. It's really worth the visit albeit it'll only take at most an hour. Worth visiting no matter whether you're local or tourist.
I made my way here during the European Heritage Open Days where there was a guided tour laid on. If you think the exterior is impressive, you couldn't try to imagine the opulence of interior The Harbour Office; the marble, the stained glass, the carpet. What stood out in my mind was the staircase; it is decorated with flax flowers,... 更多
