Visited the Falls Road,Belfast,a brilliant experience, people really friendly and welcoming, talked to the locals about how the area had changed since the Troubles, really interesting and well worth a visit.
The whole area contains murals, they all tell a story. A story of struggle and hope; joy and fear. To some these persons are hero's to others villains. When you look on these pictures of many who are now dead you realise just how sad this world can be, and yet we must all have hope of a better tomorrow
Fantastic to see all these murals full of history, nationalism, politics, community, groups related to community and political tension from the past and still present under the skin. These murals are pieces of art! One can see a former checkpoint and let us hope it will be a reminder to keep the peace in future. Must see to learn more... 更多
We visit the falls road during our tour with the black taxi. It was a moving experience. I would highly recommend it. The skill and pure talent that goes into the murals it was just amazing.
Bit of a dump really, the whole area is in need of money ploughed into it. Rubbish on streets, run down is being nice about it. Visiting next year and hopefully it's improved.
If someone wants to know the rest of the story, you have to go to the Falls Road area. There is so much information visually presented, it helps to understand the tumultous time.
Belfast. The very mention left many to shudder. That is the past. However, the past is not forgotten...The street art on Falls Road tells the story of Belfast past and present. It shows the rifts but is also necessary for the subsequent healing. It was a great thing to experience.
Visited both Falls Road and Shankhill road, it just reminds you about how tough it has been for the people who live there over the years. A great reminder of history.
