Live locally and have driven past the entrance many times without realising it was there. We're looking for somewhere to walk when remembered seeing a sign. What a delight we discovered, lovely woods, lake and meandering walks. The views were enjoyable, and the waterfalls very picturesque, featured in Michael Portillo Railway programmes. Enjoyed the cafe, and spent a couple of... 更多

If you appreciate nature then visit the beautiful walks at Penllagaer. Attractive woodland, windy paths, attractive groves, wild flowers and a picturesque waterfall. All This just off the M4. Work is on-going and improving all the time.
This lovely woodland is being improved by a band of volunteers and they are bringing it back to its former glory. The lake has been dredged, the waterfall is magnificent and there are many other lovely features to see on a walk.
What a wonderful place, beautiful scenery, woodland, lakes, open grassland, riverside walks, they are all here. The little coffee shop is clean and well run by volunteers. Improvements are continually in progress and all by the voluntary staff. An archimedes screw generator has been installed by the waterfall but after several visits I am still waiting to see it working!... 更多
Lovely choice of walks with various terrain. You could spend hours following various trails. Sensible footwear a must. There is a nice little geocache - which was a little challenging to find. The cafe at the car park does a great Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price.
Just off the M4 this valley has a waterfall miles of pleasant trails - areas that have been restored to its former glory. A great place to walk & with a lovely coffee shop by the car park. What's not too like
So glad we found this place. Such a variety of scenery and terrain. The high paths offer great views and the valley floor provides clear streams for dogs to play and drink from. Pick up a free map from the coffee shop and meet the superb volunteers who staff it 7 days a week. Meet Rebecca (asst manager) who is... 更多
This is a beautiful place to walk and the work done by the volunteers the past few years have made it even more attractive. As its name implies it is a woods not a park so if you are disabled or an unfit person this isn't really the place to go.My only complaint is that this used to be a... 更多
These woods aare lovely but in my opinion highly over-rated. Do NOT park near the cafe as it is well known for "dogging"!!!! Very steep in places with some nasty dogs - off their leads!! - not for the elderly, I will stick to Clyne Gardens in future.
Easy access (no country lanes), inexpensive parking, shop/café and toilets. Miles of surfaced tracks, paths and adventure trails through the woods to explore. A brilliant waterfall and splash pool. The free map has 40 or so points of interest to find, viewpoints – bridges – stepping stones – old buildings – a hidden lake. It’s all been wonderfully restored, the... 更多

If you have an hour or so to spare this is a lovely place to stop for a walk along the river or through the woods. Parking is very reasonable at only 20p and hour and there is a lovely little cafe serving drinks and home made cakes - yummy!
Penllergare valley wood, junction 47 of the m4 and first left, entrance on your right. What a gem of a place. Miles of paths through woodland bursting with flowers, lakes and waterfalls all looked after by volunteers. There is also a cafe for tea/coffee and cakes. Go on a sunny day and enjoy, put a Little something into the donations... 更多
