We visited this forest hoping for a long walk. The only walk was 1.5 miles and there was nothing special about it. Just went up a hill through the forest and then back down the road. Not as good as fairy glen but good if maybe looking for somewhere to walk the dog
This forest is one of the hidden delights of North Wales. Tucked to the west of the Conwy valley, close to Betws-Y-Coed, it was once the centre of lead mining in the region. Few scars remain, only great walking, magnificent mountain biking and interesting sites of old with good description boards.
Plenty of trails to chose from. It is very steep to start with and then flattens out near the top. Wonderful old trees and in places water rushing down the hill. I came across a wood sculpture of a spur. Great place to escape to from the touristy parts. I only met 2 people despite the carpark being full. Definitely... 更多
Fabulous place to walk - for hours if you wish Giant ancient trees and old tracks covered with gnarly tree roots and moss An enchanted place you must visit to soak up the serenity and mood of the local geography Leave your mobile phone in the car - you really DON'T NEED IT Highly recommended Enjoy :-)
Lovely place to go for a walk with lovely views and places to sit along the way. My husband went back the next day on his bike and said the track was great. A lot of climbing at first but great descent. The only downside is the amount of dog poo we saw or nearly trod in. Such a shame!
Whilst everyone else is busy shopping in Betws-y-coed, Gwydir Forest is the perfect place to escape to. There are several colour coded walks to follow with blue and yellow being the longest at 4.5 and 6 miles respectively. Very very steep start to the walks as you enter the forest but really worth the effort. We went again today for... 更多
We decided to do the blue circular walk and somehow failed to find our way. Not sure if that's just us? Anyhow, it was a beautiful walk in the woodland and then we headed out to more open ground along the riverside and the whole area is incredibly picturesque. I think that open area was part of the yellow route,... 更多
Well marked and maintained MTB route through the forest (Marin Trail). Some of the markers could do with being a little bit clearer as the small white signs are easily missed, especially is concentrating effort on an ascent! There is also the option for the Mini Marin to just complete the bottom loop rather than the full 25km, which is... 更多
