We walked over the awash the to get a sense of the grandeur of the structure. It is impressive considering when it was built. The barges glide along the aqueduct and into part of the canal system. As you walk along you can observe the plant and animals, especially the ducklings.
Check my review of Pontcyslite aqueduct for some details. Walked along and saw loads of wildlife. Lovely evening walk. Herons buzzards redstart perch and a myriad of bugs. Good path all flat and one of the highlights of a trip to Llangollen
It's about nine miles in total to walk from Llangollen to the impressive aqueduct at Trevor and back, but even the occasional walker will find it quite straightforward. Walking across the aqueduct was exhilarating and quite scary especially if you have vertigo, But wow ,what a unique and exciting thing to do. I would also recommend the paths underneath ,as there are so many walks around the river. Truly breathtaking .
