We had been expecting to see a few ruined walls and little else. However, the interior of the castle is fascinating with several towers which can be climbed and from where there are excellent views of the Conwy Estuary. We tried to climb all the towers but this senior citizen just failed to manage that aim. Especially interesting was the... 更多
The castle walls go around the town and are open to walk along so you can get some beautiful views of Conway before even getting to the castle. The castle itself is beautiful and has some amazing views ecspecially from the towers. I wouldn't recommend this trip to those who have trouble walking as it can be very uneven in... 更多
The main entrance is at the car park with a walk way bridge across to the castle. The toilets are only at the main reception area with the shop. No café but there are two tea rooms at the car park. The castle is a ruin but very interesting with many winding towers to explore. The views in all directions... 更多
The castle itself is stunning set in a picturesque village and beautiful surroundings. The castle is easy to roam around, but there is a lack of information or guidance throughout. Unfortunately, as stunning as the castle is it is more of a ruin, it is very unclean and scruffy with large amounts of birds both alive and dead (prime example... 更多
The actual castle is quite clearly amazing both in it's architecture and the fact it is still standing. It also commands great views of the harbour and surrounding land. However there were no guides, written or human available and although we were assured there were information panels within they were less than helpful. Talk about dumbing down. They appeared to... 更多
We traveled Ireland, Liverpool, & Wales. Of all the areas we visited, Conwy stole our hearts! The quaint shops, tea room, and waterfront, all nestled in the valley surrounded by mountains. And the castle....well, let's just say it was our favorite of the 10-15 We visited throughout our travels. The castle was gigantic, adorned with picturesque views on all sides.... 更多
Visited during Easter break and was highly delighted as was my 9 year old son. Great atmosphere, plenty to explore and gives a real sense of history. As member of English Heritage got 1/2 price entry, but even full price was very reasonable. Shop actually had reasonably priced gifts and souvenirs. Highly recommended.
I love this castle. There was masses to see and a lot was pretty well preserved. The views were great and the castle was very pretty.
We visited the castle in mid April and we loved it! Our kid found it very entertaining and the views are stunning. It was very windy on the top and drafty and cold insides due to thick walls - I suggest to wear hoody top or something to keep warm :)
Which are extremely dangerous if correct foot wear isn't worn. Other than that though lovely way to spend an hour or so. Stunning castle and equally stunning views from the top of it. Would Deffo recommend and return.
Big castle on the banks of the River Conwy and also in the town centre. Lovely views from the top of the castle. I wouldn't recommend for people with walking difficulties as the paths inside are cobbled and there are a lot of narrow steps. Also, the well which is 80ft deep, had lots of litter, namely plastic pop bottles... 更多
What an awsome place. Beautiful castle with stunning views bit scary at the top of the turrets in the wind. Kids loved it they were allowed to do a treasure hunt which kept them amused for sometime :) and they received a badge at the end of it. We are a family of six which means days out are very... 更多
It is a beautiful and stunning building but not very informative and quite expensive to just look around the ruins. Wish there had been more info available a guide an audio tour or more notices. I'd have enjoyed an upstairs downstairs style too finding out about the rich and the servants. Very peaceful and an amazing building.
Visited on a Saturday so we're able to join a tour Guide brought the history of the castle to life. Excellent knowledge and presenter, really enjoyable visit with lots to see
