I took a part of 35 to this museum. We were made very welcome and everyone enjoyed the visit. Guides were very informative and items for sale in the shop were beautifully hand made and very reasonably priced. On reflection we should have arrived in two separate groups 30 mins apart.
This museum is beautifully laid out, a nice minimal feel so you can concentrate on the furniture but there is additional information there if you want it. They have worked with students and artists to do research and put on temporary exhibitions and the space is used well, yet the exhibition is clearly designed with the eye of an artist... 更多
I knew a little about Gordon Russell, but my husband didn't. I found the guide knowledgeable and she imparted little 'nuggets' of information which made the visit seem personal to us. As we went round my husband was fascinated by the tools the craftsmen used and the quality of the furniture produced. The pieces of furniture are timeless. Well worth... 更多
What a find. Tucked off the High Street in Broadway, a gem of a museum. Delightful and encyclopedic staff. The quality of the furniture designs defy description. Every piece had us almost speechless. We visited on a mid-week day, and had the place almost to ourselves. A must stop during any visit to Broadway. Highly recommended.
We are so lucky as Broadway residents to have shared our village with such an illustrious furniture maker.Although now sadly gone its past lives on in this wonderful museum.A must for every visitor.
We didn't know much about this particular designer but am interested in furniture design from that time period. We arrived just as a guide was starting a tour and he was very passionate and knowledgeable about Gordon Russell and his company. There a lot of examples of his company's designs to look at closely.
I'd never heard of Gordon Russell, but was intrigued by the poster I saw whilst walking through town so thought I'd give it a try. It's a very logical museum, which progresses through time, and has some fantastic gems of design inside. Staff - fantastic. Couldn't have asked for more from the attendant who was obviously passionate about the subject... 更多
If you are interested in local history and design - definitely worth while to visit. Others mention a tour - however, we wandered around ourselves. Great pieces of furniture and easy explanation of how design developed. Interesting that there use to be such a large factory here - now small housing estate.
Even though we come to Broadway often this was our first visit to the Museum. We found it very interesting and recommend it.
A little known museum in Broadway and worth the £5 entrance fee. It is hard to believe how large the furniture company once was and such a shame it no longer exists. There are some lovely pieces of furniture here, along with a history of the main and the company. The man at the desk was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable... 更多
